The reason being, that when you first start to play, your fingers on your fret hand will be very tender and the gut strings are much softer to hold down. The steel string acoustic by the very fact of having steel strings can take a little longer for your fingers to get used to.
3 - Choosing The Right Teacher
Once you have found what type of guitar you want to learn to play on, you now need to look at what teaching style you want. If you decided that you want to learn electric guitar with an online guitar course and want to learn some blitzing rock riffs then you need to make sure the course teaches that style. If you are learning to play acoustic guitar with a one on one tutor, choose your teacher accordingly. Just be sure that whatever teaching system you choose teaches the musical style that interests you or you will very soon become bored. 4 - Set Aside Time To Practice
This is so important in the early stages of learning how to play a guitar. This will be totally new to you and even the simplest beginner guitar lesson won't feel easy at first. If you can push yourself to get through the first couple of weeks you will be well on your way to being a great guitar player. A regular 10 to 15 minutes a day is the least you should be practicing. Some of the first few things you need to learn to help get your basic technique happening may be a little frustrating, but if you stick at it you will start to see some great results really fast.
